On the 31st  of January 2012, at the Polish Rectors Foundation the II Seminar was held as part of a cycle entitled "The role of higher education in forming of knowledge society".

During this meeting about Academic career pathways after changes in law a new book was presented, edited by Prof. Stanisław Waltoś and PhD Andrzej Rozmus entitled "Research caarer in Poland. Legal, economic and social conditions". The Seminar's participants included: doctoral students interested in topics relevant to higher education and famous guests i.e.: HM Rector of Warsaw University - Prof. Katarzyna Chałasińska-Macukow (The President of CRASP), Prof. Tadeusz Kaczorek (The Chairman of Central Commission to Degrees and Titles), Prof. Wiesław Banyś (The Chairman of CRUP), Prof. Maciej Żylicz (The President of the Foundation of Polish Science), prof. Tadeusz Pomianek, prof. Bogusław Smólski and prof. Piotr Węgleński.

Prof. Jerzy Woźnicki began the Seminar by the introductiom to the problematics of the meeting. Afterwards the authors of individual chapters presented the contents of the book. Trials and Tribulations of a scientific career in Poland (prof. S. Waltoś); The potential of Polish Science - selected Issues (dr A. Rozmus); Academic career - acquiring academic degrees and titles (dr A. Kiebała); Academic entrepreneurship and scientific career (dr M. Czyżewska). The Seminar ended with a broad discussion involving special guests and doctoral students. The next meeting will take place on the 20th of March 2012.
