The 11th LUMEN Conference 2025, held on 25–26 November and organized by PCG Academia, the Polish Rectors Foundation, and Times Higher Education, brought together numerous representatives of the academic community at the Jagiellonian University.
The event was opened by Prof. Łukasz Sułkowski, President of PCG Polska; Prof. Bogumiła Kaniewska, Rector of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań and Chair of KRASP; and Prof. Piotr Jedynak, Rector of the Jagiellonian University. On behalf of the co-organizers, welcoming remarks were also delivered by Prof. Jerzy Woźnicki, President of the Polish Rectors Foundation, and Piotr Sasin, Country Director and CEO of CARE International in Poland.
A highlight of the first day was the rectors’ panel moderated by Prof. Woźnicki, dedicated to university financing in the coming decade. The discussion, featuring the rectors of the Jagiellonian University, AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków, Gdańsk University of Technology and the University of Economics in Katowice, became one of the key points of the programme, outlining strategic directions for ensuring the stability and development of higher education institutions.
The conference covered a wide range of topics—from financing and process management, through breakthrough digital transformation initiatives and the development of future skills, to university communication with the younger generation and the challenges of online education. The programme also included two gala events: the Digital Transformation Leaders Awards and the THE World University Rankings Awards.
